The Austrian Cultural Forum New York (ACFNY), an agency of the Republic of Austria, is located in an extraordinary architectural landmark building in Manhattan.
It is the Cultural Section of the Austrian Consulate General in New York. It offers free admission to all of its events, which are not-for-profit and frequently engages in cultural events with social, charitable and educational context and purpose, in cooperation with Austrian and Austrian-based artists.
It is a cultural, academic, and intellectual meeting place for Austrians, Americans, and citizens from all over the world.
The ACFNY carries out events including exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, and readings in the building in Manhattan as well as in other parts of the United States. With nearly 200 events and a total of some 20,000 visitors per year, the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York has an impressive sphere of influence. Many events are announced and reviewed in the local media in New York (such as The New York Times, Time Out, The Village Voice, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, City Arts Magazine, etc.).
The Cultural Forum’s thrice-yearly magazine transforum informs the public of its ongoing programs with related stories, interviews, and commentary.
