b. 1961 in Sibiu, Romania; lives and works in Bucharest, Romania

Drawing from direct observation, inspired by the news in international media, and reduced to the basics of marker pen and paper, Perjovschi’s drawings are published in various daily papers as incisive comments on the paradoxes of political and economic transition in Europe and on the building of stereotypes and xenophobia. Using wit and irony they also specifically refer to how these stereotypes were utilized to justify the NATO bombing of Serbia in 1999.
