b. 1960 in Belgrade, Serbia; lives and works in Belgrade, Serbia

The video One Day, Instead of Night, a Burst of Machine-Gun Fire Will Flash, if Light Cannot Come Otherwise (from a poem by Oskar Davi o), follows the artist as she walks through the streets of Belgrade carrying a Kalashnikov rifle in one hand and a plastic supermarket bag in the other. For eight hours every day, over a period of two months, Tomi visited principal locations of the armed rebellion against Nazi occupation in World War II, rifle always in hand, without ever being noticed. Even in the busiest city streets, passersby remained oblivious to the weapon.
