Hannah Menne

In her latest work, TRINITY, Hannah Menne, a recent graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna who also spent one year in Israel at the age of 16, explores the overlapping and incongruous elements of the three major monotheistic religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The focus of this work is the complexity found in transcribing, translating, and (mis-) understanding sacred texts. As the artist describes, “thousands of years of tradition clash with fast-living virtual communities of (non-) believers. The Holy Word functions as a tool to enshroud and dismantle millions of people’s longing for deeper meaning of human existence.”
