Princess Hijab

Born in Paris in 1988, Princess Hijab is a mysterious character who subverts advertising spaces across Paris with her « Hijab-Ad » graffiti art. The artist defaces fashion ads displayed in public spaces such as streets and Metro stations, with black hijabs. « Hijabizing », a term coined by her to define this practice, is a metaphor for cultural subversion and heretic action. Princess Hijab’s body of work also includes print, computer based animations, and performance.
