EMMA'S BLISS at the Midtown International Theatre Festival

Emma lives alone on a remote farm up for auction. One day, Max bursts in on her life. Max has stolen his friend´s car along with fifty thousand dollars. He is suffering from incurable pancreas cancer and his dying wish is to see Mexico for one last time. Before grasping the beauty of the farm, Max must learn to deal with the dirt and the farm animals, and the naturally beautiful Emma, a wise woman filled with desire. As the pain overpowers him, he urges her to reach a difficult decision.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Yarina Gurtner was born and raised in Salzburg, Austria, with a Peruvian family background. After her entry into university, she attended drama school at Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, while acting in small roles at Landestheater Linz and independent productions with her ensemble „Die Gestalten“. As a certified Feldenkrais trainer she provides various coaching and courses in movement and dramatic arts. She taught at the drama school of Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Perú in Lima for three years and appeared in „NORA“ at Teatro San Marcos in Lima. In Vienna she produced and performed the title role in „Emma´s Bliss“. She has also played: Mariedl in „Die Präsidentinnen“, in „Wann wird man je verstehen“ by Sarah Kattih and the small role „Lady in Red“ in „Shirley – Visions of Reality“, directed by Gustav Deutsch.

Brandon Reilly is an actor and musician, born and raised in New York City. He studied music at the American Institute of Guitar under the instruction of Jon Geist. He studied acting growing up with various teachers over the years, and currently takes classes with Deborah Kampmeier.
