WHAT WOULD TILDA SWINTON DO
THURSDAY, NOV 02 2017, 09:00 PM
Shattered presents the “lazy punk” band WHAT WOULD TILDA SWINTON DO.
Shattered, hosted by the Bowery Electric, is a brand new rock ’n’ roll series at the Bowery Electric. It’s a night to bring all the tribes together, dressed up and messed up, for decadence and debauchery on the dance floor.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
WHAT WOULD TILDA SWINTON DO is proud to coin the term “lazy punk” (for lack of a better term). The band’s innovative and eclectic sound effortlessly spans genres – from punk rock to electro pop to jazz. WHAT WOULD TILDA SWINTON DO came into existence in 2016 by the lead singer of the band: New York-based, Austrian actress and artist Suzie Léger. Tania Kass, the drummer and backing vocalist, is originally from Italy and, next to her music career, works as an actress as well. Jason Smith, a Brooklyn-born jazz musician, is playing the bass. And Tom Fiset, a NYC- implant from Massachusetts, is creating the mesmerizing guitar riffs, playing the synthesizer and also singing backing vocals.
“It’s almost as if you took the vocals of Heart’s Nancy Wilson, or Blondie’s Debbie Harry, and combined that with the musicality of Hole; this sound, ironically, not only differs from the self-described “Lazy-Punk” sound of new NYC band What Would Tilda Swinton Do, but may also be cutting the band short: the band possesses more energy and expression than what they're giving themselves.” – The NYC Deli Magazine
