"ZETT" AT THE NEW YORK TELEVISION FESTIVAL 2018
SUNDAY, JUL 15 2018, 05:15 PM
Zett will have its world premiere at the prestigious New York Television Festival 2018 in Manhattan. It is the only German TV series that is part of the official selection in the Pilot Contest. The producer, director and actors will be present at the screening.
The Austrian film director, producer, and screenplay author Paul Harather started in 2017 with the production of Zett. Under his supervision, along with the production manager Daniel Rachnaev the complete Season 1 of Zett was produced mainly by teenagers between ages seventeen and twenty. The casting and research process took more than six months. The goal was to find an authentic and harmonizing cast with genuine stories. All actors appearing in the series are newcomers to the big screen.
Zett aims to open up an authentic view into "Generation Z", a partly mysterious world to other generations. How does it feel to grow into the world of today? What are the real questions, needs, hopes and anxieties of the first digital natives? The stories in Zett are genuine; they are told by teenagers. There are no super-heroines or heroes, only a few crimes, drugs and parties that go wrong. It is about friendship, love, betrayal, seduction, rituals, hope, dreams and reality. The stories are based on actual events. Being shown is the essence of this "Generation Z", a truth you are not likely to find on TV these days.
