Dance Performance and Roundtable | ZERO PROJECT

JUNE 15 | 7 PM

Inclusive Music Making, Accessibility, and their Innovative Applications in the Arts
Innovations in music technology and inclusive participatory models have allowed people with disabilities to learn, enjoy, and play music without barriers. Join the Zero Project, the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, and the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations in New York to learn about novel musical instruments that can be played using just the performer’s eyes, as well as inclusive and equitable ways to include everyone in the enjoyment that is the magic and mystery of music. Come and learn about lived inclusion in music!
The event will kick off with an interactive and inclusive dance performance by Jerron Herman, Eppchez Yes, Madeline Mellinger and Connie Vandarakis.
The audience will then delve into a hybrid roundtable to understand how each component of music can be made inclusive from instruments, to composing, dance, and even film. Moderated by: Lachi
The event will be provided with in-screen captions and ASL interpretation for the live audience. Both captions and ASL will be available for the online audience as part of the on-demand recording as well.

ROUNDTABLE SPEAKERS:
Lachi: Founder of Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities (RAMPD)
Connie Vandarakis: Education Director of DanceAbility International and Arts & Culture Director of Disability Pride PA
Yaara Kedem: Associate Director of ReelAbilities Film Festival
Mira Possert & Sophie Löschenbrand: Artistic Planning & Education, Wiener Konzerthaus
