THE WAY DOGS DO
ONE-MAN-SHOW WITH CHRISTOPH DOSTAL
Based on the novel of Wolf Haas
A biting, hilarious, literary, full-blooded solo-ensemble dance theater performance featuring music and self-made sound effects puts a new twist on the murder mystery
Actor and dancer Christoph Dostal took an idea that at first no one thought was feasible and turned a novel into a one-man show for the stage. To add to the challenge, he didn't choose just any novel, but a novel by the Austrian cult author Wolf Haas.
The result is a solo piece with ludicrous, lightning-fast role switching that brings the action to a head. Piercingly hilarious and viciously cruel, the choreography reveals
the animal side of human nature. Video clips on the big screen feature James Bond in Vienna's Augarten park, bathing in a kiddie pool wearing a tuxedo and swim trunks. The music is just as much inspired by Heintje as by Hendrix. To say it's an evening full of surprises is an understatement.
