THE VIENNA MODEL
WEDNESDAY, MAY 08 2013, 05:00 PM
Join us for a free Gallery Talk and walkthrough of our new exhibition, The Vienna Model, which was curated by the New York-Viennese team of William Menking and Wolfgang Förster. The show presents a survey of public housing design in the Austrian capital of Vienna, where 60% of the population live in municipally built, owned, or managed housing, and which consistently tops global surveys of quality of life.
This walkthrough will include special guest Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss. Weiss is an architect educated at Harvard University and Belgrade University. He is the founder of Normal Architecture Office as well as co-founder of School of Missing Studies, network for cultural and urban research. His recent book, Almost Architecture, explores the roles of architecture vis-à-vis democratic processes, abrupt political changes and the architectural appearance of post-communist ideologies.
The Vienna Model is on view daily from 10AM - 6PM, through September 2nd, 2013. Admission is free. >> More information.
